Solicita: Import Specialist

• Descripción y Requisitos

  Your Role Will Include:

  •  Maintain direct contact with procurement buyers to verify that all purchased merchandise, spare parts, and equipment are correctly declared on packing lists (including brand, model, serial numbers, and unit of measure) prior to data transfer.

  • Review and verify U.S. and Mexican Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and ensure compliance with applicable Mexican Official Standards (NOM) certification, labeling, and conformity requirements prior to document submission.

  • Liaise daily with foreign warehouse personnel to audit physical goods against packing lists, resolve discrepancies, and segregate strategic materials to prevent border delays.

  • Act as the main point of contact for MX Customs import inquiries.

  •  Evaluate operational import priorities with internal buyers, establishing clear precedence for external service providers.

  • Conduct audits of draft import pedimentos against commercial invoices and packing lists to correct data before official customs submission

  •  Proactively follow up with vendors and internal buyers to obtain missing commercial invoices, technical datasheets, or spec sheets required for customs clearance.

  Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree: trade compliance certifications preferred with minimum 3 years of experience in a Customs and Global Trade framework.

  • Strong knowledge of Mexican import regulations, IMMEX temporary import rules, SAT customs procedures, and NOM compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience in HTS classification verification, packing list validation, auditing of pedimentos.

  • Excellent analytical, triage, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and enterprise tracking systems.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multi-functional teams.

  • Strong fluency in English, verbal and written (Advanced).
