Position Summary:
Buyer / Planner will report to the Materials
Manager and will be responsible for coordinating production planning,
material procurement, inventory control, supplier communication, and
logistics activities to support customer demand and operational
objectives. This position plays a critical role in ensuring material
availability, production continuity, on-time customer delivery, and
inventory optimization while supporting continuous improvement
initiatives across the supply chain.---
Responsibilities:
• Production Planning & Material Management
· Develop and manage production schedules according to customer demand and forecast requirements.
· Review and update weekly production plans to align with operational capacity and customer requirements.
· Perform weekly Kanban analysis to generate raw material requirements.
· Create purchase orders and expedite materials through ERP systems such as JDE or equivalent.
· Review daily shortage reports and proactively expedite components as necessary.
· Ensure materials and components arrive on time to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
· Coordinate production priority changes based on customer demand fluctuations.
· Review and adjust production orders and planning information within ERP systems to support changes in customer requirements.
• Supplier Management & Procurement
· Coordinate with suppliers regarding material deliveries and expedite urgent requirements as needed.
· Negotiate delivery schedules and premium freight requirements with suppliers.
· Follow up on defective material returns and supplier corrective actions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers related to
delivery performance, inventory optimization, and material flow.
· Manage supplier communication to ensure alignment with operational and customer expectations.
• Inventory Control & Logistics
· Participate in SLOB(Slow Moving & Obsolete Inventory) analysis & reduction activities
· Support inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining required service levels.
· Ensure finished goods are shipped to the warehouse located in El Paso.
· Coordinate with the El Paso warehouse team to ensure timely shipments through the appropriate transportation method.
· Manage and coordinate Asian ocean freight shipments and related logistics activities
· Request and coordinate expedited shipments when necessary to support customer requirements.
• Operational Excellence & Reporting
· Maintain and update process KPIs to ensure operational effectiveness and process control.
· Ensure process outputs meet operational and quality expectations.
· Support Quality System integrity when planning and implementing process or system changes.
· Participate in new product launch activities to ensure supply chain readiness and successful implementation.
· Support additional operational and supply chain activities as required to achieve business objectives.

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below:
· Bachelor's Degree required.
·
3+ years of professional experience in purchasing with in-depth
knowledge of KanBan JIT, Vendor Managed Inventory, demand flow
technology, and supplier agreements.
· Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once.
· Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
·
Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite namely Excel, and the use of
the materials portion of ERP systems, namely JD Edwards.
· Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross-functional group of individuals.
· Excellent time management, prioritization, and project management skills.
· Good command of English, both written and oral, for effective communication with other ITW units and business leaders.
· Sense of urgency and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of simultaneous projects.
· Ability to perform analysis and interpret data into actionable steps.
· Ability to think strategically and use quantitative and qualitative data to create strategies that move ITW forward.
