Position Purpose

  • Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Clerk provides members of the production department with constant assistance. Preparing documentation, data entry, compiling documents, coordinating schedules, maintaining office supplies, and preparing reports. The most important qualifications for the job are teamwork, attention to details, accuracy, communication skills, computer competencies, production scheduling experience, and the ability to lift weights.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support and promote Company Mission, Vision and Values
  • Adhere to department and company policies and standard operating procedures
  • Identify needs relating to improvements in safety/ergonomics and assist in developing and implementing solutions to these items
  • Prepare and develop a records management system; maintain and recommend changes to records system when appropriate.
  • Writes production reports based on data compiled, tabulated, and computed, following prescribed formats.
  • Run reports weekly for staff meetings, end of the month reports, and usage reports for managers to see all necessary data.
  • Maintains files of documents used and prepared (SOP manuals)
  • Perform requested Audits to help maintain the ATMS and ATBP
  • Performs various clerical duties such as photocopying, filing, sorting, and distributing department paperwork.
  • Creates all purchase orders for requested tools and equipment, expedited vendors and delivery services, and completed the purchase order once the merchandise was received.
  • Participated in the inventory counts as requested
  • Supports the training department by preparing training documents/materials, creating trainings in the LMS and training new or current employees whenever needed
  • Help tracking the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives and supports the achievement of those goals
  • Help prepares for meetings
  • Manage the Manager calendar and sets up meetings
  • Take minutes during meetings and follow’s up on actions
  • Follow-up on production needs from service departments (OIL)
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to engage and lead a cross-functional team towards a desired outcome.
  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and plan use of time and people effectively and efficiently
  • Competent computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, and an ERP system.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and deliver large quantities of data information.
  • Ability to work with and support other areas of the business operation.
  • Ability to self-direct work load and meet strict deadlines.
  • Dependability - Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.

Qualifications / Prior Experience

  • Knowledge of basic Lean Manufacturing and ERP systems
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a strong plus
  • Good math skills
  • High school diploma. A degree in a technical field is preferred or a combination of skills and experience
