The ideal candidate should possess a proven track record in Plant Management with a minimum of 10 years of experience working within the Maquila Industry and will be able to provide leadership and strategic direction to the on-site employees. This individual should have a strong focus on internal and external customer satisfaction, excellent team building skills with a strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement, HSE management and operational efficiency.  The incumbent must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of Plant Management for our Juarez Mexico Manufacturing Facility.
  • Responsibility for the compliance of company standards and all government regulations.
  • Responsibility to provide leadership and engagement for the safety and health of the workforce
  • Leadership and development of key resources along with engagement of workforce
  • Responsible for inventory and interface with  warehouse in El Paso TX including cross-border activities
  • Evaluates machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Resolves worker complaints or submits unsettled complaints to Corporate Office in New York for resolution.
  • Responsible for business control systems including ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ERP, HSE, Business Continuity System and Financial consolidation
  • Compliance to and meeting Company objectives and standards
  • To provide strategic direction for the site

  • Design and implement a talent development and succession strategy for his unit, in cooperation with Human Resources
  • Build a team of competent and dedicated people whose skills complement one another
  • Ensure that the work flow and job structure are tailored to his unit’s needs
  • Manage and engage his staff based on Company values and business strategy

Health & Safety

  • Accept the full responsibility that comes with his position in line with  OSHA and NOM requirements
  • Identify the unit’s OSHA/NOM priorities in line with corporate objectives and follow up on them
  • Insist on and create a safe and healthy work environment for all his unit staff
  • Promote sound occupational health and safety management
  • Personally commit to and display strong leadership in health and safety

  • Ensure the sustainable and responsible development of the unit
  • Establish a structure complying with corporate governance rules and responsibilities
  • Insist on ethical conduct and uphold the values underlying  the Company corporate culture

  • Ensure client satisfaction by tracking client offer performance indicators (products and services)
  • Develop his business network
  • Help build and maintain business relationships with his unit’s clients
  • Keep abreast of products and services offered by the competition, anticipate customers’ needs and stay up-to-date on manufacturing best practices and new technologies and share them within the organization

  • Bachelor's degree  preferably in Engineering or Business
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Operations Management
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)

Desired experience

  • Minimum of 10 years  of progressive growth in leadership positions in a manufacturing environment - prefer experience in Technical Textile Converting for to meet the stringent demands of the Automotive, Appliance and Printing industries
  • Proven track record of results with team building, leadership development of direct reports and engagement of production operators
  • Black Belt certification or lean manufacturing training
  • Background in Quality and standards helpful
  • Strong communication skills along with leadership skills

Technical competencies

  • Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
  • Strong computer skills in today's current systems, ERP, CAD and Microsoft packages etc.
  • Proven skills in analytical problem solving along with root cause analysis
  • Ability to understand financial systems as they relate to operations
  • Ability to understand Customs Process
