Position scope/summary

               Drive the Buyer Planner group to sustain +98 % on time delivery of FG and service products to our customers

               To maintain and satisfy customer demand with optimum finish goods inventory levels and resource utilization.

               Evaluate valid production scheduling by effectively balance supply capacity and demand for product.

               Manage forecast to secure business plan and AOP goals with COps

               Responsible to train and supervise Buyer Planners to plan and drive the necessary assemblies, materials and components in the quantity, quality, and time required to meet the production schedule.

               Meet the right Inventory levels to support production and meet the Company Inventory targets.

               Participate in review of opportunities to reduce cost (PPV), reduce lead times, and improve quality in the Supply Chain.

               Participate to develop new sources and negotiate purchasing conditions with suppliers taking into consideration on time delivery, quality, and cost.

                 Be a reliable communicator of business conditions. Publish incidents within an objective

                 and clear manner with the adequate sense of urgency.

Essential duties and responsibilities

               Be aware with supplier performance and trigger actions as necessary.

               Confirm Customer requirements as solicited by Customer Operations.

               Schedule adequate Outside Processing capabilities through accurate scheduling.(i.e. Sterilization)

               Meet planned inventory levels to meet targeted inventory turns.

               Be aware of specification revisions and component substitutions to support production requirements and schedule revision changes properly.

               Monitor and negotiate existing inventory to avoid materials obsolescence.

               Supervise the right Set up and maintenance of proper item master data within ERP system as well as hard copy purchase order and contract files. Maintain planned lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, etc included in the item master for all items assigned (Make & Buy).

               Responsible to assist Buyer Planners in quality and engineering issues related to the evaluation and/or audit of existing or new supply base, and initiate or support Cost Reduction efforts.

               Supervise accurate raw material forecast for the finance department and suppliers.

               Analyze the demand and keep balance within the supply chain, manufacturing capacity and demand to develop a valid monthly production schedule.  Responsible for the OTD performance indicator of the plant.

               Manage Kanban inventory levels for applicable assemblies.

               Provide feedback and recommend actions to ANY AOP supply discrepancy and recommend strategies. 

               Supervise timely release of shop orders to Manufacturing and Warehouse for material preparation.

               Supervise the timely release of orders through manufacturing, carrying out the plan, and controlling the work as it progress to completion and shipping.

               Take control of work orders and make sure they are completed and closed on time (No past dues dates in the system).

               Meet with manufacturing management to make sure production strategy aligns with available resources.

               Supervise maintenance of planned lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, etc included in the item master for all MPS items.

               Any other related to his/her job as requested by his/her Supervisor.

Environmental working conditions

               Perform assignment within office area with periodic visits to the manufacturing floor. Occasional travel required.

               Maintain work area clean and orderly

               Able to work in multiple tasks and manage priorities.

               Reliable communicator through electronic mail and telephone


               Fluent in Spanish and English

               Must have good ERP working experience and knowledge.

               Superior communication skills

               Proactive and computer literacy.

               Teamwork oriented.

               5 - 8 years materials/purchasing experience (Medical Industry preferred) at supervisor/team leader level.
